Prehistoric Turtle Figurines Found at Gedikkaya Cave, Turkey

A team led by archaeologist Deniz Sari uncovered about 25 limestone turtle figurines, dated between roughly 14,500 and 11,200 years ago, at Gedikkaya Hill and Cave in northwestern Turkey. Many were embedded upright in circular arrangements, suggesting ritual use.
