Hippocampus mosaic uncovered at Tralles in Türkiye

Excavators at ancient Tralles uncovered a roughly 2,000-year-old mosaic with a mythical hippocampus in a bath-gymnasium complex. Later Byzantine activity had partly overlaid the Roman-period floor.
