Ancient shipwrecks discovered near Libyan Port City of Ptolemais

Underwater surveys near Ptolemais in northeastern Libya revealed a debris field over 100 metres long, indicating multiple ancient wrecks. Anchors, amphorae and a bronze balance-scale component highlight heavy maritime traffic at the harbor.
