Archaeologists uncover 17th-century Indigenous settlement during Ontario highway project

Salvage excavations linked to a highway expansion in Ontario revealed remains of a 17th-century Indigenous village, including longhouse features, ceramics and faunal remains. Archaeologists are working with First Nations representatives on documentation and interpretation.
