Archaeologists uncover 2,000-year-old workshops and Roman necropolis in Egypt’s western Nile Delta

A joint Egyptian-Italian team has uncovered extensive industrial workshops and a Roman necropolis at Kom el-Ahmar and Kom Wasit in Egypt’s western Nile Delta, revealing production, trade, and burial practices from more than 2,000 years ago. Artifacts include tools, fish-processing remains, and burial types indicating diverse funerary rituals.
