A 2026 geophysical survey has detected rectangular buildings on the slopes below Göbekli Tepe's famous T-pillar enclosures, buildings that look like houses. A theoretical paper argued this was likely fifteen years before anyone found the evidence, and the gap between the two says as much about archaeology's assumptions as it does about the Neolithic.
